What is an Open Space?
It is an event format without a previous agenda and led by the participants themselves.
Definition
An Open Space is a participant-driven event format that allows for self-organization and the exploration of specific questions or themes within an Agile context.
Purpose
To quickly gather the best ideas from a large group of people on a particular topic, often within a short period of time.
Participant-Led
The content and structure of the event are determined by the participants, not the organizers.
Self-Organization
Participants propose and schedule meetings to discuss specific topics, with the freedom to move between sessions as they see fit.
Duration
Open Spaces typically last from half a day to two full days, with multiple simultaneous meetings.
Four Principles
Whoever comes is the right person; whatever happens is the only thing that could have; whenever it starts is the right time; when it's over, it's over.
Law of Two Feet
The Law of Two Feet encourages participants to take responsibility for their own learning and contribution by moving to sessions that interest them.
